NOW HEAR THIS: I’ve held audiobook workshops for authors and aspiring producers over the past several years, and had what was probably my best session at the Pacific Northwest Writers’ Association back in September. A lot of writers don’t know that audiobooks are the fastest-growing format in the publishing world, and many have concerns about how their words would be handled as an audio work. But after a night with a forum attendees, and after a class session with nearly two dozen aspiring authors, I think I’ve changed a few minds about audio!
I direct a lot of the clients I work with to ACX, the Audiobook Creation Exchange, where I do much of my work on audio. It’s Amazon’s clearinghouse for authors/audio rights holders and narrators/audiobook producers like me. I’ve found it to be a great starting point for anyone just getting into the audiobook world, and it’s been working great for me for the past 4+ years! To learn more about it, check it out, and keep listening!
